Alliance of Angels Alliance of Angels (AoA)
The Alliance of Angels is the Northwest's premier angel group comprised of more than 100 individual investors and representatives of investment firms active in financing innovative young companies with high growth potential in Washington and surrounding states. A program of the Technology Alliance, AoA facilitates more efficient access to capital, provides coaching to entrepreneurs, and produces events that engage the investor community and foster entrepreneurial excellence. AoA members have directed over $40 million to approximately 140 presenting companies since 1998.
Founders Co-op Founders Co-op
Founders Co-op is a seed-stage investment fund based in Seattle. We've pooled the resources and expertise of more than a dozen successful entrepreneurs and early-stage investors to make bets on smart people with great ideas. Our specific focus is on niche opportunities that require limited capital to demonstrate market traction and generate meaningful revenue.
Seattle 2.0 Seattle 2.0
Seattle 2.0 is a resource for entrepreneurs and startups in Seattle. It provides online services, including a blog aggregation, list of CEO and Founders on Twitter, calendar of events. Seattle 2.0 also organizes startup events.
Technology Alliance Technology Alliance (TA)
The Technology Alliance is a statewide, non-partisan, not-for-profit organization of leaders from our state's diverse technology and related businesses and research institutions dedicated to Washington's long- term economic success. Through programs, events, research studies and policy activities, the TA works to advance the three drivers of a vibrant innovation economy to benefit all of Washington's citizens: excellent K-12 and higher education systems; strong research capacity; and a robust entrepreneurial environment. Signature programs include Alliance of Angels and the Science & Technology Discovery Series.
TechStars
TechStars is 3 month long mentorship-driven program for entrepreneurs that operates in Boston, Boulder, and Seattle. Each year, over 600 companies apply to participate in the program, and TechStars selects about ten companies per city. During the program, the selected companies are surrounded by top serial entrepreneurs and investors in an intensive mentorship environment. At the end of the program, TechStars companies have the chance to present their companies in front of hundreds of investors. About 75% of companies that have participated in the program over the last 3 years have gone on to subsequently raise angel or venture capital.

The mission of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship is to promote learning and discovery in innovation and entrepreneurship to faculty and students—from undergrads to PhD candidates—across the University of Washington campus.  Since entrepreneurs come from all disciplines and fields of study, CIE provides the education, real-world experiences, and connections that make it possible to launch start-up companies or be an agent of innovation with an established firm.
UW Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship UW TechTransfer
UW TechTransfer facilitates the commercialization of University of Washington research. Our primary goal is to achieve maximum utilization of discoveries arising from UW research. To accomplish this goal we work in close partnership with UW innovators to support their research mission as well as partner with industry in a variety of ways: we work with companies and business professionals to license UW-based technologies, we help our researchers launch their own start-ups through the recruitment of business savvy volunteers to mentor them through the process, and we work with professional organizations to educate the local business community on the work we do at UW TechTransfer.
