Luis Salazar, EIR

Luis Salazar joined Voyager as an EIR in the second quarter of 2008, serving in advisory roles for portfolio companies and evaluating potential investments. He has over 20 years of experience in international sales & marketing and general management, with a successful track record launching new ventures in the software and services areas. He is currently the Chief Technology and Marketing Officer for GMI, leader in technology-enabled services for the global market research industry. Luis also serves as Product Strategy and Marketing advisor to technology companies in Washington, Oregon, California and Colorado and mentors senior leaders in Fortune 5,000 companies. Previously, Luis spent eleven years at Microsoft where most recently as General Manager for Marketing, he co-founded Microsoft Office Live, leading worldwide marketing and engineering teams through several successful product launches, reaching millions of customers with one of the first business-focused services from Microsoft that is monetized through advertising revenue.

Luis led Microsoft’s worldwide middle-market sales from 2000 to 2004, during which the billion dollar business experienced steady double-digit growth. In 2004, he was appointed Marketing General Manager for MSN Services for Small Businesses. He started his career with Microsoft in 1997 at the Venezuelan subsidiary, and prior to joining Microsoft; he held leadership roles with Xerox and ABB in Latin America (1988–1997).
